Even better, the paid services actually send you emails whenever there’s any activity on your credit report, and trust me, if you’re serious about protecting your credit score, you need the paid service.

What are the current credit score ranges?

Credit scores and the regulations pertaining to them have actually changed a bit in the past couple of years – things that used to make a difference in your credit score now account for less (certain medical bills, for example), the specified ranges also vary, and even more importantly, your credit score can actually vary significantly from one credit bureau to another.
